My newest pattern just released for sale is named Finglas Baby Blanket, it is available at ravelry.com/patterns/library/finglas-baby-blanket.
The story of this blanket began more than a year ago while I was at the Knitting and Stitching Show at the RDS, Dublin. Walking down one of the isles I saw a large group of onlookers crowded around a stall. When I got up closer I saw that the attraction was a lady demonstrating how to make the flower motif featured in my blanket. It was such a novel motif and so clever I couldn’t wait to try it out.
The stall was run by The Women of Finglas – an Irish craft group. Every year they have amazing completed craft projects to show off and are a great inspiration. They are so generous with their time and are very knowledgeable.
I modified the pattern quite a bit from the baby blanket she had made, I add the stars to join the motifs, added the fringe in the contrast colour, added the crocheted buttons and the crow’s foot edging.
Once you have the first flower mastered it is a very portable project, do it on the bus, while waiting at the garage or at the hairdressers.
I hope you enjoy making it even half as much as I did.
Thanks again for the blog article. Really looking forward to reading more.
